Dog breeding is a practice as ancient as prehistoric times. Of course, they had to domesticate the wolves at that time to create the first generation of the canines we see and love today. Dogs are bred to perform and even excel at some specific tasks, such as hunting, guarding, and even herding the cattle. The breeding is done by keeping the physical and mental traits of both parent species into consideration to breed dogs that, as mentioned earlier, can handle certain tasks exceptionally well.
