Sealyham Terrier dog breed information
A fairly young breed, the Sealyham Terrier has gone through tremendous highs and lows in its brief existence. These tiny dogs are great companions in addition to being intelligent and efficient workers. Some interesting Sealyham Terrier dog breed facts include them being developed in Whales and their popularity with Hollywood stars. The Sealyham Terrier breed dog was developed by John Tucker-Edwardes, who belonged to Sealyham in Pembrokeshire, Wales. Experts agree that Tucker-Edwardes used the Wire Fox Terrier, West Highland White Terrier, Dandie Dinmont Terrier, and the now-extinct English White Terrier to develop his new breed despite the fact that he did not preserve breeding records. A lifelong hunter, John Tucker-Edwardes' primary motivation in developing the Sealyham was to create a breed ideal for otter and badger hunting.
